Be Comfortable in the Stillness...

The latter part of 2009 was truly great!  We were enjoying life with our little guy.  I was in the midst of interviewing for two new potential jobs.  And, all in all, life was going great.  We were settled in the world of being a family of three. Let me emphasize the word...FAMILY.  God had been faithful.  We were parents.  And, we were happy.

I remember having to travel the end of November / early December to NY.  Right now, I cannot remember why I needed to be there, I just remember that I was there.  I hadn't been feeling right that week, but thought it was just premenstrual symptoms, so I didn't think much more of it.  But, on the way home from the airport, I again stopped at my favorite pharmacy to buy another 3 pack of tests. What's the harm?  Another $15 dropped, but at least I'll be sure.

When I got home, my husband was somewhere with our little guy, so I had the house to myself.  And, when he got home, we needed to get ready to go and take our family picture.  Knowing that, I didn't have much time to drop my bags, get ready, and get to the mall for our pictures.  So, when I got upstairs into the bathroom, I took the test but immediately started getting ready.  And, for the first time...EVER...I didn't watch the test.  I just knew I would see another "Not" and I didn't have the 3 minutes to do anything other than get ready for our pictures.

When I heard the door open downstairs, I looked at the test..."PREGNANT."  WHAT???  This can't be real.  Are we?  Could we be?  And, again, God ensured that I wasn't alone when I got the news.

This time, I walked downstairs, handed the test to my son (who was almost 2), and started taping on my phone.  I got his reaction as he saw the test – PREGNANT!

We would be adding to our family.  God is faithful!  He always is!

Romans 8:31-32 (GNB):  In view of all this, what can we say?  If God is for us, who can be against us?  Certainly not God, who did not even keep back his own Son, but offered him for us all!  He gave us his Son – will He not also freely give us all things?

Truly – God is faithful!  If it is His will, He will provide.  He gave up His only Son for us.  Considering that, if it is His will, wouldn’t He do anything in His power to help us?
